How to Make a Wood Shield




MATERIALS:
  • Large wood plate 
  • Decorative wood embellishment (optional)
  • Sturdy ribbon or rope About 12"
  • Upholstery Tacks
  • Hammer
  • Wood glue





STEP ONE:
Cut ribbon in half, each section should be about 6", and hammer ribbon onto the back of plate securing with tacks as shown. You will hammer two ribbons on both ends of the plate. This is for your child's arm to fit through. 


STEP TWO:
Once you have two ribbons tacked to the back of plate, glue embellishment on the front side of plate with wood glue.
