Homemade Banner Tutorial
Making our festive banner is 'sew simple', you don't even have to sew. Your banner can be as simple or as intricate as you would like to make it. We use ours year after year, and always enjoy them.
- 1 - 1 1/2 yards of fabric each in colors of your choice.
- 1/2 yard of fabric for the letters. (optional)
- 1 packet of bias tape (4 yards)
- No sew tape
- Pinking shears (optional)
Make a template triangle. It should be 9" in height and 8" in width.
Cut 26 triangles with your pinking shears or scissors. Pinking shears will help minimize fraying but are not necessary.
If you would like letters on your flag, cut out your letters from a contrasting fabric and iron them onto one side of your flags by using no sew tape or sew them on by stitching very close to each letter's edge.
Place wrong sides of triangles together and iron/sewing together with no sew tape or thread.
Attach the flags by ironing/sewing them together, spacing them evenly apart onto the bias tape.
