We have two tips to share. 

  • Use a toothpick to trace around the windows, making a slight depression into your dough house piece. This way you won't have to freehand the window when cutting.

  • Gingerbread will expand while baking making edges uneven. Put the template over your pieces immediately after taking the gingerbread out of the oven. The gingerbread will still be soft enough to cut back to the original size and even them, making putting the house together much more easy and uniform. Which is great because decorating of course is all the fun!
